Golden Earring must be one of the best known rock bands to have emerged from Holland. For some rockers, they might have sounded strange, but definitely, they are one of the underrated bands of the yesteryears. Formed in 1961 as “The Golden Earrings” by Rinus Gerritsen, George Kooymans, Barry Hay and Cesar Zuiderwijk,  they were subsequently named “Golden Earring” after dropping “The” in 1967 and “s” in 1969. Despite various musicians coming and going, they have had a long career, with numerous hit singles and more than 25 albums to their name. Their most famous numbers include “Radar love”, “Twilight Zone”, “When the lady smile” to name a few. And they are going strong even today.

Formed in Birmingham in England in 1964, The Moody Blues are considered the pioneers of progressive rock. Their album “Days Of Future Passed”, produced in 1967, is considered as one of the first concept albums. They have a distinctive sound blending guitar, with mellotron, organs as well as harmonica. The lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Hayward is well respected in his field and has been bestowed with numerous awards for his contribution to music. With multiple hit numbers like “Tuesday afternoon”, “Nights in white satin”, the band has been going strong even today with various line up changes.

Well, Bad Company does not require any introduction to a classic rock fan. They are the staple classic rock acts. Formed in 1973 in London as the offshoots of “Free” (Paul Rodgers-vocals and Simon Kirke-drummer), “Mott The Hopple” (Mick Ralphs-guitars) and “King Crimson” (Boz Burrell-bass), the tetra pack superstars could not go wrong. And the powerful group was famously being managed by Peter Grant, then the manager of led Zeppelin. With their debut album in 1974, and subsequent albums, they got everything what a rock group would have desired for. Their first 3 consecutive albums reached top five in the album charts both in UK and US. With various line-up changes, they are active even today. No doubt, when it comes to classic rock, they are the names to be mentioned always.
