“Pat Benatar” is considered as one of the most significant female pop/rock singer of the Eighties. Born in New York City in 1953, she started singing from her early age. Besides singing, she was also interested in theaters, and she became successful as an actress as well. With her autobiography, she also became a successful writer. She began her musical career in early seventies and reached her peak during early eighties. Although she is labeled as a solo singer, she had a steady band and her music has been credited to her band through all her albums. Her husband, Neil Giraldo had been the guitarists in all her albums. Her most successful numbers had been “Hit me with your best shot”, “Fire & ice”, “Promises in the dark”, “Love is a battlefield”, “We belong” etc.

Shakin’ all over

Reviewers- Bikash Shrestha/Nirab Kayastha

“Johnny Kidd & The Pirates” was a British rock ‘n’ roll band, revered as a pre Beatles rock sensational phenomenon in Britain. Formed in early 1959 by their leader Johnny Kidd (Vocals), along with Alan Caddy (Guitars), Tony Docherty (Rhythm guitar), Johnny Gordon (Bass) and Ken McKay (Drums), they were indeed a phenomenon by themselves. Perhaps an underrated band, it would be a point to ponder that Led Zeppelin produced a tribute album for them. They did not have much chart successes, but their stage antics of the pirates and their wonderful music have remained overtly influential to the future generations of rock musicians all over the world.
