Warm ways
“Fleetwood Mac” is a British-American rock band which was formed in late sixties and led to rule the seventies and the decades ahead. Fleetwood Mac was formed in London in 1967 by Peter Green (Guitars), Mick Fleetwood (Drums), Jeremy Spencer (Guitars) and John McVie (Bass). They pioneered the British Blues Rock scene from their conception.
Later, with subsequent additions of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, and departure of the original founder guitarists, they turned into more pop rock sound. Their biggest hit album “Rumors” in 1977 won them Grammy Awards for “Album Of The Year”. They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and considered as one of the most successful bands. It would be a strange fact to many rock fans that Santana’s hit “Black magic woman” was originally theirs ! With lots of troubles within the band, their line up kept on changing but to the delight of the fans, they are still touring for live shows.
“Warm ways” is the soft rock ballad from their 1975 album “Fleetwood Mac”, debuted after addition of Buckingham and Nicks, not to be confused with their debut in 1968 with “Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac” or “Fleetwood Mac”. This song may not be Mac’s one of the better known songs, but the song definitely deserves an honor.
An amazingly soothing ballad, “Warm ways” is one song which exactly explains how tender can Fleetwood Mac be! A placidly simple love song penned by Christine McVie, the song has been sung by her just aptly. John McVie’s bass, and Mick Fleetwood’s drums are at their best. Although Lindsey Buckingham’s guitars don’t sound that prominent, but they definitely give life to the song. Relatively a short song, it is one sing which never tires the listener!!“Fleetwood Mac” has been one of the most important rock bands of the golden era of rock with numerous hits, but when it comes to their gentle ways, “Warm ways” is one song which the rock fans are always forced to admire in their own gentle and warm ways….……Happy listening!!!
