“Prism” is one of the early Canadian bands who could gain fame and name outside Canada. Formed in 1977 in Vancouver, Canada, from the off shoots of two local Canadian bands “Sunshyne” and “Seeds of Time”, their classic line up consisted of Ron Tabak (Vocals), Lindsay Mitchell (Guitars), John Hall (Keyboards), Allen Harlow (Bass) and Rocket Norton (Drums). A prominent band which dignified the seventies AOR, they may not have had many hits, but their contribution to rock scenario can never be undermined. It would be an interesting fact to many rock fans that then unknown Bryan Adams had been a working songwriter partner for Prism in their heydays. Although their classic line up underwent several changes, they are making music to this day.

“See Forever Eyes” is their second album produced in 1978, following their debut self-titled album in 1977. The platinum certified album had a hit with the single “Flyin’”, but the title song definitely deserves the cake.

Starting with the catchy keyboards tune by John Hall, soon, drums and guitars follow and the song takes the pace. A pop rock song with hard gritty rocky edge, the song describes the vision of the lady which never fails. Ron Tabak’s vocals in the song is a perfect match to this rocky number. Lindsay Mitchell’s solo in the middle as well as at the fading end is also equally captivating. Overall a smooth rock number, the song definitely is the prototype seventies pop rock with cutting rocky edge.

Yes, Prism did have good numbers to their credit. However, when we try to see through the prism, undoubtedly, we see “See forever eyes” forever as the centre of attraction of the prism!!Happy listening!!!

See forever eyes

Looking right through you, she knows who you are,

She’s got see forever eyes,

A spirit obsessed, a vision possessed,

With universal inner sight,
No stranger to love, she’s had many men but,

None of them survived,
Her crystal excites, so follow the light,

Of her see forever eyes,
See forever eyes, see forever eyes

Beholding the mirror, her eyes give a feeling of,

Lonely vacant skies,

Soaring above, always searching for love,

The soul within her flies,
Caught by a glance, in a gossamer trance,

Woven by her lies,
Compelling them nearer, dispelling their fear

With her see forever eyes

See forever eyes, see forever eyes,

See forever eyes, see forever eyes

Looking right through you, she knows who you are,

She’s got see forever eyes,

A spirit obsessed, a vision possessed,

With universal inner sight,
No stranger to love, she’s had many men but,

None of them survived,
Her crystal excites, so follow the light,

Of her see forever eyes

See forever eyes, see forever eyes,

See forever eyes, see forever eyes,

See forever eyes, see forever eyes
